Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)

A Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) is an account funded by your employer that helps to pay for certain out-of-pocket medical expenses.

The 2019 employer contributions and reimbursable expenses are as follows:

  • Bradford, Newbury, River Bend, OESU, and Oxbow Teachers:
    • Single: $2,375
    • Two-Person, Parent Child/ren, Family: $4,750
    • Medical & pharmacy deductible and coinsurance
    • Employee shall pay the fees for this account
  • Bradford, River Bend, OESU, Oxbow, and Waits River Support Staff:
    • Single: $2,325
    • Two-Person, Parent Child/ren, Family: $4,650
    • Medical & pharmacy deductible and coinsurance
    • Employee shall pay the fees for this account
  • OESU Central Office Staff:
    • Single: $2,375
    • Two-Person, Parent Child/ren, Family: $4,750
    • Medical & pharmacy deductible and coinsurance
    • Employee shall pay the fees for this account
  • Waits River Teachers:
    • Single: $2,000
    • Two-Person, Parent Child/ren, Family: $4,000
    • Medical & pharmacy deductible and coinsurance
    • Employee shall pay the fees for this account
  • Thetford Teachers and Support Staff:
    • Single: $2,375
    • Two-Person, Parent Child/ren, Family: $4,750
    • Medical & pharmacy co-payments, deductible and coinsurance
    • Employer shall pay the fees for this account

All the school plans above offer the following:

  • Employer covers first dollar expenses
  • The Employer will reimburse the provider directly for services (billed through BCBSVT)
  • Any member of the family enrolled in the HRA shall be permitted to use the total contribution
  • HRA balances will not exceed those shown above in a calendar year.
  • There will be a 30 day run out period after the Plan Year ends
  • Mid-year enrollees will receive a pro-rated contribution

You enrollment in the HRA will happen automatically when you are enrolled in the health plan.
